Bernardaud's journey began in 1863 in Limoges, a region rich in kaolin, fresh water, and forests essential for porcelain production. Since then, the company has overcome 21st-century challenges and remains resolute as it enters the third millennium.

In 1768, near Limoges, a woman discovered kaolin, a key porcelain ingredient. The Limoges porcelain saga started in 1771, and Bernardaud's industrial adventure began in 1863 when two Limoges industrialists opened a factory. Léonard Bernardaud, an apprentice, rose to become a partner, expanding markets, especially in the United States.

In 1994, Michel Bernardaud, representing the fifth generation, took over, emphasizing modernization while preserving traditional techniques. His goal is to grow the company globally, maintaining the family legacy of preserving technical skills, fostering innovation, and highlighting creativity.
